This is a compilation of film from 1906 just after the EQ, 1915 during the International Exposition in what is now the Marina District, 1939 from the World Exposition on Treasure Island, and from the 1950s of the new freeway into SF (now US101/I80). No sound is needed as these sights are well-known to locals. I narrated the film for my son. Such a pleasure to see them and great to know they preserved. Thank you!

For some reason this film has footage of the '06 earthquake, the Pan Pacific Expo of '15, the worlds fair of '39, and traffic footage of the early '50s. (The earlier cars were involved in a race in 1915.) I like all of it but wish the sound were there.

Subject: "Moral and refined, pleasing to ladies"
A silent menagerie of clips apprehended from a wide variety of sources that tries miserably to tell the history of San Fransisco. One big thing is that there is no sound, so we really don't know what is going on the majority of the time. What's with the men in the cars and the flags? I'm not too sure. Some interesting bits about the history of cinema here (?!?) and we also get almost the whole "San Fransisco, after the fire and earthquake" film which is located on the Prelinger Archives, but other then that, this is a meager time waster.
